2016 Season Review
The 2016 season was pretty successful the TNT Express. The winter skills camp was a rousing success at the Bradford sports dome and feeding off that the club was able to field teams in all 6 age divisions of the OMFL. (the only team in the league to do so.) The tyke boys were amazing even when the roster dropped to only 8 players, they refused to quit and finished every game, and represented us proudly at championship weekend. The atoms also contended with a short roster but persevered and made huge strides towards the end of the season. The peewee squad notched some wins and had so much fun they were inspired to become TNT’s first ever fall team with a little help from some of the second year atom players. The bantam team had a winning season going 5 and 7 and falling to Orangeville in the semi-final. Our junior varsity team played very well but fell in the semi’s as well. The newly reinstated varsity team displayed a ferocious defence and went to the finals and lost a close one to Cambridge.
Our high school partners did well with Banting winning a junior title and St. Thomas won their first ever varsity championship. The new TNT buff was a big hit with players and the boys still sported their pink laces. The executive was all returned by acclamation and are hard at work preparing for the 2017 winter skills sessions in March.
